Houses of Parliament

Houses of Parliament is the meeting place fo the two houses of the Parliament of the United Kingdom - the House of Lords and the House of Commons. Although the first royal palace was built in the 11th century, it was destroyed by fire and much of it rebuilt in 1512 as the home of Parliament. In 1834, fire once again almost completely burned out the house of Parliament, and the current Houses of Parliament was rebuilt. Since 1987, it has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Read more ...
